Divorcecare

DivorceCare Spring 2018

January 8th - April 9th, 2018

$15

You don’t have to go through it alone! Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before.

DivorceCare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. Each of the 13 sessions has two distinct elements:

A Seminar with Experts: During the first 30–40 minutes of the meeting, each DivorceCare group watches a video seminar featuring top experts on divorce and recovery subjects. These videos are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format featuring expert interviews, real-life case studies and on-location video.

A Support Group with Focus: After viewing the video, DivorceCare group participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members.

The group meets in The Dock, to your left at the back of the lobby. Your workbook is included in your fee, and will be waiting for you at your first meeting.

No meeting on Monday, March 12 (Spring Break for Katy ISD).

We are not able to provide childcare for this event.

Women's Bible Study Spring 2018

January 23rd - January 24th, 2018

$25

This spring, Current is pleased to offer two Bible study choices:

DISCERNING THE VOICE OF GOD
A 7-Session Study from Priscilla Shirer, Tuesday Evenings, 6:30-8:30pm and Wednesday mornings 9:30-11:30am.

Do you ever ask, "How do I hear God speak? How do I know it's Him?" Discover the root to clear and daily communication with God—humble obedience. Learn how surrender unlocks His many blessings intended for us, centers us in His will, and helps us discern His voice in everyday life.

OR

ACTS PART 2 (no need to have completed Part 1)
A 9-Session Precept Study, Tuesday Evenings, 6:30-8:00pm and Wednesday mornings 9:30-11:00am.

This fall our Precepts study will be diving into the Book of Acts. Jesus promised His disciples that they would take the gospel to the remotest parts of the earth. Observe Paul's transformation from persecutor of the church to preacher. Join him on his journeys across the Roman world to proclaim the saving message of Jesus to Jews and Gentiles. Learn how to witness and how to live an authentic Christian life in all circumstances in the power of the Holy Spirit. Learn to be like Paul, to be bold in proclaiming the name of Jesus and to trust our sovereign Lord who enables us to endure persecution and suffering at the hands of those who hate Jesus...and therefore, hate us.

Studies begin the week of January 22nd. $25 registration fee includes materials.

Childcare is available. DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR CHILDCARE is WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 10th. $15 one-time fee per family.

Junior High Camp 2018

June 3rd - June 7th, 2018

$350

Our Current Jr. High Students are going to camp Cho-Yeh this summer, June 3rd-June 7th. Camp Cho-Yeh is located in Livingston, TX. Animal Planet's show, TreeHouse Maters, made a tree house at Camp Cho-Yeh. This will be our first time going to Cho-Yeh and we are pretty excited! At camp we will be taking our students through the life of David. While David’s story is one of his rule and leadership as king, it is also a story of his heart’s desire to serve the eternal King of his life-God himself. In moments of failure with great sorrow David cast himself on the grace and mercy of God for restoration. As we journey through David’s story, we want to grow in every camper a deep desire to serve the King.
